Set against the rolling hills of Sonoma Valley, this Wine Country ranch house was thoughtfully reimagined as a warm and welcoming retreat for our East Coast-based clients, who lovingly refer to the property as “Heart House.” Designed as a place to gather family, host a constant flow of guests, and fully embrace indoor-outdoor California living, the home blends timeless Mediterranean architecture with a more layered, refined, and deeply personal interior aesthetic.

What began as a small styling project quickly evolved into a full-scale renovation as Fletcher Rhodes worked to bring greater warmth, texture, and functionality throughout the property. Custom plaster walls, updated finishes, refined architectural detailing, and high-end furnishings both indoors and out transformed the home into a sophisticated yet highly livable Sonoma Valley retreat. The interiors were further elevated by the clients’ impressive contemporary art collection, including a custom ceramic sculpture installation by artist Kelly Farley featured in the entryway. Designed for entertaining, multigenerational gatherings, and long weekends in wine country, the home reflects a timeless balance of elevated design, craftsmanship, and relaxed California living.
