Emily mughannam - Owner, Creative Director
inventive | driven | Caring
Emily combines a natural affinity for space and design with experience and education. Once she realized the passion could be a vocation, she pursued and earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts with an emphasis in interior design from the Design Institute of San Diego. Soon after, Emily moved to Los Angeles.
Working at small architecture and design firms, she was quick to gain hands-on experience and felt hungry for more. She moved on to San Francisco where she quickly landed a job with notable designer Jay Jeffers, who would have a big influence on her. It was here that Emily honed her personal aesthetic and crafted the image that would become Fletcher Rhodes.
Emily has an innate way of seeing not only space, but also the people who live in it. This intimate understanding of her clients allows her to create the perfect backdrop for their lives.
Happiest in her own house surrounded by her husband and two kids, Emily loves to transform homes into environments with meaning—witnessing the emotions that affect our lives. She hopes to one day help aspiring interior design students as a mentor, giving back to a field that has given so much to her.

On a weekend morning, you can find this local gal grabbing coffee in downtown Marin, walking her pup thru the redwoods or riding the mountain bike trails with her beau.
Mia Sandmark - Designer
Creative | Passionate | best hugger
Born and raised in Sweden, Mia’s Scandinavian design aesthetic has been cultivated since birth. At the age of twelve her family relocated to Sonoma, where a whole new landscape became familiar. Mia later attended The Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Diego and Los Angeles where she formally perused her love for design.
Since then, Mia has moved fluidly throughout the design world—including set design, film production, event design and design for residential and commercial spaces. Moving back to Stockholm, Mia dove deeper into her passion for working with interiors and homes. While there, she had the opportunity to absorb the breadth of Scandinavian design trends, which she now skillfully combines with her previous exposure to the urban designs of San Francisco and other cities.
Today, Mia lives in Sonoma with her husband and daughter, and uses the various influences of her life to bring a fresh approach to her projects—bringing a little bit of the city to the country, and balancing modern and urban with softness and comfort. When she’s not designing you can find Mia making memories with her family and watching her daughter grow into someone who teaches her what life is all about, and not the other way around.
