Wine Country Style Holiday Decorating

We are in full holiday spirit up here in Wine Country, decorating clients’ homes and stocking up on holiday accents in our FR Collection Sonoma shop. As you are starting your own holiday decorating, try incorporating our styling tips, tricks, and uniquely curated items to get that Wine Country look, wherever you are.

6 ways to get that wine country holiday style

Gather little Christmas trees in woven baskets

A quick and easy solution that instantly adds holiday flair! Go to your local Christmas tree lot and pick up 2-3 small trees at different heights. Plop them into woven baskets and arrange in front of your fireplace, a room corner, or at your entry to welcome guests.

Hang a mini-wreath on a long velvet ribbon

Subtle, elevated, contemporary… drop a hint of holiday style with a mini wreath hung on a long velvet ribbon. It evokes just enough holiday spirit without taking away from your home’s refined sophistication.

Make a beloved ornament bowl

We all have ornaments with fond memories attached that don’t necessarily match this year’s Christmas tree theme. Try gathering them up in a pretty bowl and making a fun, colorful decor statement. (Also a great conversation item!)

Welcome guests with an entry console garland

An immediate first impression that goes a long way! We love mixed greens garlands of eucalyptus leaves and pine tree branches. Add neutral-color ornaments like these metal bells throughout to create visual interest.

Go for patterned artisan stockings

Once you try artisan stockings, you won’t go back! They become their own Wine Country statement alone. We’ve got three styles in our FR Collection shop to get you started.

Incorporate red into your florals

At our recent FR Collection Open House celebration, we upped the holiday vibes by using unexpected red florals. Pulled together in an earthenware urn, it’s an easy Wine Country style addition!
