A Design Lover's Trip: France & Spain

Our unforgettable journey through France and Spain took us from the charming villages of Provence and the French Riviera to the vibrant streets of Barcelona and the stunning coastline of Costa Brava. Filled with beautiful architecture, Mediterranean views, local markets, and unforgettable moments, this European adventure left us inspired and already planning our next visit.

France | French Riviera to Provence

France completely stole our hearts.

We started our adventure in Cassis, tucked along the French Riviera, where turquoise water, dramatic cliffs, and the Mediterranean Sea looked almost too beautiful to be real.

From there, we picked up our son after his SCAD study abroad in Lacoste, such a special full-circle moment and settled into Bonnieux, one of the most charming villages in Provence. We wandered the streets of neighboring Aix-en-Provence, explored incredible open-air markets, lingered over long lunches, and soaked in everything that makes Provence feel so timeless.

Everywhere we looked there was beautiful stone, weathered shutters, olive trees, and centuries of architecture that reminded us why we love design so much.

Already dreaming of the next trip back.   Merci, France. À bientôt.

Spain | From City Streets to the Mediterranean Sea

Barcelona had us moving nonstop, in the best way. We wandered the Gothic Quarter (my favorite!), admired the magic of Sagrada Família, explored Park Güell, and squeezed in as much Gaudí architecture as we possibly could, finding inspiration around every corner.

Then we traded the city for the coast, stopping in the storybook medieval village of Peratallada, where centuries-old stone streets, ivy-covered buildings, and timeless architecture made it feel like we'd stepped back in time. From there, we settled into Begur along Spain's Costa Brava, with its unbelievably turquoise Mediterranean water, hidden coves, rugged cliffs, and some of the most beautiful coastline we've ever seen.

The perfect balance of history, architecture, natural beauty, and slowing down. Every stop left us inspired. We can't wait to return, but until then, we'll be dreaming of Mediterranean views, timeless architecture, and our next European adventure.
