How to Style An Entry: 4 Ways

Your home’s entryway welcomes guests with a dash of your personality and a peek of what’s to come. Here are four of the Fletcher Rhodes #howtostyle an entryway formulas we have utilized in our projects, and a breakdown of what you need to recreate the look in your own home.

#1 FIRST LOOK / LAST LOOK

One of the most common entry arrangements includes a large mirror over a console table for that first look on your way in and last look on your way out. We love the way a sculptural lamp frames the composition, with a small decorative item and a medium-sized leafy arrangement rounds it out.

FR ENTRY Formula #1

Console table
Large mirror
Sculptural lamp
Small decorative item
Medium-size leafy arrangement

#2 a Grand Entrance

If you have the space, try something unexpected: pull your focal point away from a wall and place a round table in the center. Hang an attention-grabbing pendant light above, and top it with a large floral or branch arrangement. Add a fun chair or two for extra character.

FR ENTRY Formula #2

Round table
Attention-grabbing pendant light
Large floral or branch arrangement
An accent chair or two

#3 COME IN AND REST AWHILE

A pretty entryway can also be functional. Incorporate a bench for a quick shoe change or a weary traveler. Style it with a pillow and a throw for extra charm. Bonus points if the bench is an antique or vintage find!

FR ENTRY Formula #3

Antique or vintage bench
Pillow
Throw
Optional: a basket for shoes

#4 Make a Statement

We love incorporating pieces by our favorite artists into our projects when we can that add a certain flair of individuality to make a bold first impression. Hang an art piece or set one casually atop a console or dresser. Frame it with a few smaller decorative objects on either side. For extra texture, add a basket for shoes or a pair of stools.

FR ENTRY Formula #4

Art piece
Console table or dresser
A few decorative objects
Optional: a basket for shoes or a pair of stools

However you style your entryway, change it up every so often, cycling in new art or a new light fixture, fresh greens or a personal object. Your entry should make you (and your guests) smile!
