Sourcebook: A Few Fave Local Vendors
Months ago we posted several of our favorite photographers, painters, and 3D artists we love to use in our projects. We thought we’d follow up with a few of our favorite furniture vendors here in the Bay Area and Southern California that you may or may not have heard of, that we also love to incorporate into our designs. We prefer to work with specialized furniture makers because it makes our clients’ homes that much more unique. And if we can support local artisans and small businesses to boot, all the better.
Lawson Fenning
Los Angeles, CA
We love the simple lines, natural materials, and special details that Lawson Fenning pulls together so beautifully in their pieces. We used these stitched leather barstools with wrap back detail that make this kitchen island just that much more memorable.
J. Liston
San Francisco, CA
This console crafted of charred wood is more a work of art than a piece of furniture! We love the natural texture produced from J. Liston ‘s technique to create these stunning, refined pieces.
Gregorius Pineo
Los Angeles, CA
Founded by George Massar and Doug Kinzley, all pieces from Gregorius Pineo are handcrafted and made-to-order utilizing innovative techniques, materials, textures and finishes. In addition to furniture — like these pretty-perfect x-stools — they have also created an evolving collection of lighting, wallcovering, textiles, and accessories,
Kelly Farley
Pope Valley, CA
Local painter, porcelain and metal artist Kelly Farley created this stunning sculpture of silicon carbide, ceramic spheres, and oxidized steel for one of our projects that earned its place as the focal point in the room.
McGuire
San Francisco, CA
A San Francisco staple for Bay Area designers, McGuire may be one vendor you have indeed heard of as they have been doing refined California Casual to much success for years on end. Case in point: we spec’d these gorgeous leather buckle back-detail rattan frame chairs for a client’s dining room that continue to stand the test of time. An extensive catalog, you’ll want to dive in deep.
These are just a few of our local faves. Do you have others to share? We’re always on the hunt for talented artisans sharing their craft with the world!
