Work in Progress: Healdsburg Modern Build
We are overjoyed that our Healdsburg Modern Build project is happening again!
The hillside property for this new build is very close to where the Kincade Fire broke out here in 2019, devastating much of the landscape (and devastating our client and us at the thought we would not get the chance to create this spectacular home!). Then, COVID hit which made all of us, especially our client, reconsider moving forward at all.
But with time, wounds heal, trees return, and our team is back together making this client’s dream home come true. We've been having so much fun pulling together materials and getting our design caps back on to make this custom home come together.
We're currently working on interior renderings but in the meantime, take a peek at the vision!
THE ARCHITECTURE
Taking full advantage of the hillside slope, the main structure will cascade down to a large open pool area, with multiple windows and glass sliding doors on the back facade to capture the views beyond.
THE DESIGN CONCEPT
A contemporary metal roof and black paned doors surrounded by stone, formed concrete, and Wine Country landscaping keep the lines of this home clean and modern. Our interiors concept will keep the spaces open and light-filled, yet comfortable for the whole family or for a hosted gathering that can spill to the outdoors.
THE SITE
A recent site visit a few weeks ago allowed us to put our ideas into context (not that it would be too difficult with these views!). True to the Wine Country natural landscape with tree-spotted hills and bright blue sky, this plot of land is any designer’s dream. From its quaint, humble farm-like beginnings to a conscientious home that respects the land’s forms and best features, the Healdsburg Modern Build is off and running! More to come…
