Fletcher Rhodes’ Sonoma Picks in House Beautiful

House Beautiful recently tapped Fletcher Rhodes founder Emily Mughannam alongside Bay Area designer Jay Jeffers for her top Sonoma recommendations. From home decor and antique shopping to food and wine, and sightseeing in between, Emily breaks down some of her hometown faves:

Shopping

Olive and Rose Studio

“This is the best interior design shop in northern Sonoma County,” Emily says. If you’re a design aficionado, you must stop at Olive and Rose Studio where owner Chelsea has curated furniture, accessories, kitchenware — all items in that beloved Wine Country style. Check out this holiday decor DIY Emily and Chelsea did together!

Chateau Sonoma

Emily also loves to stop by Chateau Sonoma to check out the latest French antiques and architectural elements sourced from flea markets in France and around the world, as well as pieces from local Sonoma designers and artisans.

Wineries

Scribe Winery

Pictured here, Scribe is one of Emily’s favorite Sonoma wineries to enjoy incredible wine, food pairings, and scenery all around. Family-owned for four generations of farmers, it just feels like Sonoma. See more of Emily’s winery recommendations here >

Donum Estate

Not only does Donum Estate offer some of the best Pinot Noir in the valley, but its grounds are home to open-air art installations sprawled within acres of vineyards — a unique experience for any design-lover visiting Wine Country. Read more about Emily’s day trip to Donum Estate >

Three Sticks

In addition to fangirl-ing general manager (and mom, board member, and committed Sonoma community member) Prema Behan, Emily prefers Three Sticks’ rosé as her rosé of choice for warm summer days .Read about Prema and Three Sticks as part of our Women in Wine series >

See & Do

Bohemian Highway

Get a taste of the sweet life in Sonoma with a Land Rover tour through Wine Country with beer, wine, food, and local knowledge by female-owned Bohemian Highway , one of Emily’s recommendations for any visitors to the area.

Jack London State Historic Park

For those up for more outdoor treks, try Emily’s favorite hiking spot at writer Jack London’s former ranch now open to the public.
